Opportunities From: ACT3 Ministries

Lead ACT3 Discovery Cohort through six sessions over the course of seven weeks. Each Discovery Cohort is comprised of 8-14 participants. Facilitators will be trained and receive ACT3 Discovery accreditation based on the ACT3 Facilitator Guide.  

This team is responsible for training and monitoring web page development and freshness for serving organization partners with ACT3 Ministry. This team will have writers available to create narratives for service organization partners' web page. They will also monitor. the timeliness and followthrough of volunteer enquiry response. 

• All ACT3 facilitators are given the benefit of facilitator training. This training is foundational to the quality and consistency of all ACT3 outcomes. The skill set requires the capacity to train others and lead leaders. 

• Facilitator training materials are developed and key to the training process for best facilitator practices.
• The course requires 2-3 hours for each participant to complete. This training best occurs in smaller groups.
• The facilitator trainer will provide recommendation of a trained facilitator to the Facilitator Team and ensure ACT3 Facilitator credentials are provided

Responsible for identifying and vetting local serving organization partners whose causes are in alignment with ACT3 Ministry and develop a collaborative partnership with them. 

Bridges Outreach provides tutoring to high schoolers as part of our after-school program at Kokomo High School.  We are currently looking to expand our services by adding more volunteers to our pool of existing tutors.  Many of our students are at-risk of not graduating and need additional help to secure opportunities for success beyond high school.  You will absolutely LOVE our students, and they will LOVE you.  Please, if you have experience teaching in these or other academic areas, consider offering 45 minutes a week to help our awesome kids overcome obstacles in order to graduate!

The role of the ACT3 Discovery Cohort Host is to ensure arrangements for cohort space is adequate to specs, whether in classrooms, community rooms, or homes. The role includes overseeing and assisting in room setup and knockdown, using ACT3 Ministry guidelines for best practices in room setup. Confirmation of adequate restroom facilities is also necessary. The host should consider a plan for refreshments, including an invitation for help from participants as the cohort progresses.

The role of an ACT3 Prayer Team Member is to ensure coverage for the facilitator, as well as each participant throughout all active ACT3 Discovery Cohorts.

The role of the ACT3 Coach is to lead a participant in the review their Calling Star and walk them through their Serving Exploration Worksheet. The desired outcome is the participant's understanding of a next step towards a serving opportunity in alignment with their calling. This process is designed to build on the reflections, prayers, conversations, and further reflections of the ACT3 Discovery Growth Group Experience for the participant and motivation to action by the Holy Spirit and then, through the guidance of the Coach, get participants engaged in serving.

Coaches will provide check in calls during weeks 2-5 to get acquainted and help them through the process of the homework. They will schedule a final meeting to work through the completion of the Calling StarTM and help them get connected to Galaxy Digital.

Coaches should review the Galaxy Digital website, ensure they can navigate the site and are familiar with the partnering organizations and opportunities as they relate to causes and skills. Understand the functionality of Galaxy Digital, know how to create a profile, respond to opportunities and record hours. 

Our Project 30 Mentors meet with their students 30 minutes a week at the child's school, during the school day.  Mentors support their students academically, socially, and emotionally.  Our long term goal is for mentors to stick with their students throughout elementary school, but we ask for at least a one year commitment.  Our students need adult role models who are caring, wise, consistent, and dependable. 

To become a mentor, volunteers must submit a background check to their designated school and must undergo a short training session at the Bridges Outreach office.  This is a great, low-investment high-return opportunity when it comes to making an impact for the kingdom and the community!  So little is required but so much is possible!!!

We are looking for someone who loves working with their hands and serving the Lord.  We could use someone skilled in a variety of areas of maintenance and repair who could help with small repairs around the office, occasional vehicle maintenance, and who could serve as an assistant project manager with our Bridges Homes. God is doing big things with our current housing program as well as with our growing staff (which means some expansion projects at the office!).  We'd love to have your help!

Bridges often takes groups of students on field trips and occasionally need the services of a volunteer bus driver to transport our kids!  Field trips typically occur on Fridays or Saturdays about once a month during the school year and up to once a week during Summer Slam (our five week summer day camp program).  You will absolutely LOVE our kids, and they will LOVE you!  These are fun, enriching, and life-giving opportunities with our students! 

Bridges programming is funded by gifts and grants.  We would love to have someone who is passionate about the Lord and about the work Bridges does to help us out by being a spokesperson for Bridges.  This person would help us raise money from friends and family during our annual fundraising initiative and then help us celebrate with a big golf outing event!  This would be mostly during the month of May through early June.  If you want to be a part of some really amazing things that God is doing in our schools, churches, and community through Bridges, give us a call!

The main mission of Cross America is to send a Cross and Path to Salvation to every household in America.  There are over 114 MILLION households in America.  We've been able to send over 3.3 MILLION in 5 years, and we did all this by using volunteers to assemble these mailings!  Each and every single one is prayed over and sent through the USPS Every Door Direct system.  We offer the opportunity for you to sponsor a zip code at the rate of $43 per mailing!  

When you volunteer here, we provide everything you need simply come and sit at one of our tables inside our facility in a room we call the 'CAR' Cross Assembly Area.  Here you will have step-by-step instructions on how to assemble the cross-mailings.  You can BE THE ONE and be part of the Great Commission by being the hands and feet! 

We offer this volunteer opportunity during business hours and our volunteers work at their leisure when it's convenient.  Our facility is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.  There are occasions when our hours vary, so if you are coming from a long distance, we suggest you call ahead (765.780.3090)  to see if we are closing early.

During our busier hours, we often find it helpful to have a seasoned volunteer sitting in the CAR area to talk to the other volunteers/guests and ensure they are doing the work correctly.  In general, we want EVERYONE to feel welcome.  We love to see the BODY OF CHRIST working in tandem.

This is a great role for someone who likes to go 'behind the scenes' and is also a stickler for details.  While every mailing is assembled by volunteers in the CAR - there are several other steps that happen before these mailings go out the door.  This role requires your ability to work on a team that has a 'dialed-in' process that meets the high standards of the United States Postal System and our God!  We do EVERYTHING in excellence here and our QC team does a great job ensuring every cross is adhered well, folded well, and looks 100%!

Here is an opportunity to bless those that bless the most vulnerable in our community.  The office, break room, and bathroom needed cleaned for the crew that volunteers their time to fix up cars for guests.  This will also serve our guests who come to have their car serviced.  A cleaning brush is just a cleaning brush unless it is used in ministry...then it is a powerful tool in the ministry!

To serve our clients with excellence, we strive to have the cars cleaned up and ready for delivery.  This opportunity is as needed, we will let you know when there is an opportunity to minister. 

The Godsend Garage volunteers repair and rehabilitate vehicles for the under-resourced in our community in our fully-functional and professional repair facility. We have 3 lifts, diagnostic software, and the professional tools and equipment necessary to run an extensive and excellent shop. The work includes: 

- Perform vehicle inspections, diagnosis and maintenance
- Rehab donated vehicles to a safe condition so that it can be given away
- Repair vehicles for under-resourced individuals and families. Guests pay for the parts but not for labor. Typical repairs include:

     - Brake and rotor replacement

     - Tire repair and mounting

     - Oil changes and fluid replacements

     - Computer code diagnosis

You do not need to be a qualified mechanic; we work together to solve problems and have experienced men onsite.

Assist volunteers at the garage who repair and rehabilitate vehicles for the under-resourced in our community by helping the Office Manager:

The Data Entry Operator is perfect for the person who is detail oriented and who can handle strictly confidential information.  This opportunity includes filing, data entry and other recordkeeping.

EWYL Facilitators act solely as mentors/teachers to clients who have chosen to carry their pregnancy to term. They use a pre-established curriculum and other resources to help clients improve their lives and improve the lives of their families.

GiGi’s Playhouse is a volunteer-run organization, and we rely on the skill and dedication of volunteers of various levels of expertise to keep our programs vibrant, educational, fun, and free. This is an exciting opportunity to help those with Down syndrome learn to read or do math skills! The time commitment per week is 1 hour plus prep time. We ask our tutors to commit to one session (10 weeks). You will work directly with the family of the child you are tutoring to determine when you will meet for your session each week.

The One-on-One Literacy tutoring program for individuals with Down syndrome provides instruction based on the interests and inspirations of each student. The Literacy tutoring program supports the increase of sight word recognition, vocabulary, comprehension, articulation, self-esteem, speech clarity and fine motor skills. Our trained tutors provide motivating and purposeful lessons designed to keep our students engaged and learning both during sessions and when extending activities at home.

The One-on-One Math tutoring program uses a multi-sensory, strength-based approach to build confidence and success for our students. The Math tutoring program supports the increase of the range of math skills, self-esteem, confidence, critical thinking, problem solving skills, independence and autonomy, and fine motor skills. Our research-based curriculum encompasses a variety of strategies and techniques to ensure that every student can be successful when learning math. Birthright relies on the dedication, time and talents of volunteers. We welcome any and all individuals who share our philosophy and commitment to offer loving, confidential, nonjudgmental support to those who are pregnant or think they may be pregnant.

This opportunity requires 1 hour of preliminary training then 3-2 hour sessions with shadowing for a couple of months to ensure confidence in mentoring.  You will have the opportunity to mentor ladies, perform pregnancy tests, make baby layettes, assess needs and refer to other organizations and provide needed support. We serve two healthy meals 365 days a year! You will be interacting with our residential men staying at the shelter and those who count on us from the community for meals.

NGHR is in need of a Volunteer Coordinator to help manage the new volunteer applicants and their application process. 

A Volunteer Coordinator is the first point of contact for applicants and an important bridge to helping them understand and get plugged into our program.

This opportunity can be done from home with little or no expectation to come to ranch unless you would like to. You are always welcome to come out and help with volunteer engagement!

The Volunteer Coordinator needs to be comfortable on the phone and communicating via email to prospective volunteers. There is also a need to follow up with documentation requirements. 

This position may require 3 - 7 hours a week.

Narrow Gate Horse Ranch is a growing ministry to at-risk youth from Howard county and the surrounding area. We help at-risk kids learn important life and social skills with a mentor and a horse. Please see our website to understand more about our ministry. 

As we increase our availability and frequency of classes to better serve our community, we have a growing need for greeters.

Greeters meet the students and their adult before their class starts. During the hour and fifteen minute class, the greeter will stay with the parents to facilitate good relationships and answer questions. 

Greeters should be comfortable chatting with newcomers as well as familiar attendees. Greeters should be comfortable listening and encouraging people from all walks of life.

Greeters are encouraged to sign up for the same weekly class to help build relationships and rapport with the students and their caretakers. So, volunteer time is about 1.5 hours once a week for 6 weeks. Our classes run in 6 week rotations.

Transportation opportunities allow volunteers to connect with the senior and provides time to develop relationship.  During winter we have an increased need for transportation due to volunteers that winter in the south.

We are getting ready to start our newest partner family house build, and we are looking for individuals and/or groups who would like to donate meals on build days. These days are typically on Saturdays every week until the completion of the house. Because of the time of year, and possible bad weather we may not be able to build every Saturday. We will update our Facebook page for any inclement weather delays. On these days we will have many volunteers and we like to provide the volunteers with food, drink, and if possible dessert. This would be a great opportunity for a church group looking to serve, or for a group with children under the age of 16 who can not volunteer at the build site. Crossroad Servant Ministry will be sending a team to Jamaica through the help of CSI Ministries.  They will be building a couple of homes.

They will be leaving February 13th and will be returning February 20th.  The workdays will be on Wednesday through Friday, and then again on Monday.

CSI Ministries has partnered with local agencies to provide beds for children in need in our community.  For many children that receive these beds, it is their first bed.  It is a wooden bed built based on certain specifications and is given complete with mattress, pillow, and bed sheets.

We will be creating a group that can cut wood and assemble precut wood into these, much needed, beds. By responding, we will know those interested and create a time where we can partner with CSI.

Group Size: Up to 15 people.

Ages Limit: This trip is open to those 10 years of age and older.
Please Note: Under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent.

If you have time for a mini-mission trip for a day, come and build beds! You can make a difference in a child and family’s lives with this simple act of kindness.

The Rescue Mission provides much more than meals and a place to sleep. We provide restorative care to men, women, and children experiencing a homeless crisis in the Fort Wayne area.

With the help of compassionate partners, we not only meet immediate needs but also offer programs enabling residents to encounter Jesus Christ, understand their past, and move forward—complete with therapeutic groups, education, life skills, and job readiness training.

A Cub Master is the leader of the unit and oversees the operations of the unit by coordinating the efforts of all the leaders in the pack so that the Cub Scouting program works the way it should.

By making the commitment to serve as a Cubmaster, you have accepted the following responsibilities: • Attend monthly roundtables.

• Plan and help carry out the Cub Scouting program in the pack according to the policies of the BSA.

• With the pack committee, develop and execute a year-round recruitment plan for recruiting boys into Cub Scouting.

• Know about and use the appropriate and available literature, including the den leader guides.

• See that the pack program, leaders, and Cub Scouts positively reflect the interests and objectives of the chartered organization and the BSA.

• Work with the pack committee on developing program ideas, selecting and recruiting adult leaders, and establishing a budget plan.

• Guide and support den leaders, and see that they receive the required training for their positions.

• Help organize and encourage graduation into a Boy Scout troop by establishing and maintaining good relationships with Boy Scout troops.

• Meet with the unit commissioner, Webelos den leader, and Scoutmaster to establish plans for the Webelos Scouts’ transition to Boy Scouting.

• Help bring families together at joint activities for Webelos dens (or packs) and Boy Scout troops.

• Maintain good relationships with parents and guardians. Seek their support and include them in activities.

• See that Cub Scouts receive a quality, year-round program filled with fun and activities that qualify the dens and pack for the National Summertime Pack Award.

• See that the responsibilities specified for the assistant Cubmaster are carried out.

• Help the pack committee chair conduct the annual pack program planning conference and the monthly pack leaders’ meetings.

• Work as a team with the pack committee chair to cultivate, educate, and motivate all pack leaders and parents or guardians in Cub Scouting.

• Take part in the charter review meeting and annual charter presentation ceremony.

• Request den chiefs for all Cub Scout dens and, after selection, see that they are trained.

• Recognize the den chiefs at pack meetings.

• Conduct impressive advancement, recognition, and graduation ceremonies. For Webelos ceremonies, involve Scoutmasters and other Boy Scout leaders.

• Encourage high advancement standards from all Cub Scouts.

• Support the policies of the BSA.

Den Leaders are the leaders that deliver the weekly program or activity to their respective age group and or Den.  Den for each of the grade levels K-4.  Their Den activities or adventures are how they complete their curriculum for their respective achievements.

We are growing and we need your help.  I recently attended a workshop and they discussed a topic that I knew needed to be addressed.  We need to get more minds in the game. We are forming a "Dream Team".
What do I mean and what is required?  A Monthly Meeting - In the Spring, (March 8th) we will be planning and hosting a community event.  It will be a "Retirement God's Way" event.  We will be meeting monthly to plan the event and get sponsorship.  We need people to help us follow God's promptings for ACT3 so that we can reach those in or approaching their third stage with God centered advice.Commit to praying for us.  Asking God to show us, and you, the next steps to ministering to and through those in their third stage.  How to meet needs and make connections. As God gives you ideas, reach out and communicate with me.Please let me know if you are interested.  If so, what day of the week works best for you.
