This volunteer opportunity will be for two hours from 6-8 PM. Come enjoy dinner with the families and learn about some of the children in foster care. A background check must be completed to its entirety to obtain this opportunity. The foster parents will be in training while the kids enjoy some recreational time outside depending on the weather. Childcare involves supervision, ensuring safety for all kids, engaging in activities that focus on strength, maintaining rules and boundaries, keeping peace, providing redirection when needed and at times providing one on one time for certain children. You will work with children that are as little as 2 years old to 17 years old. You will have other Villages Staff working with you and to ensure that your questions are answered.
Foster parent support groups are in both Lafayette and Kokomo 1x monthly for 2 hours each from 6-8 PM.
